repente las palabras para formar un bloque compacto e indisoluble al cual no
quedaba sino someterse”. Uno de los ídolos de nuestra contemporaneidad es la
idea de que la felicidad es una posibilidad y un deber que tenemos para con
nosotros mismos. Ese ídolo se llama éxito y se supone que nuestra vida solo se
encamina hacia la dicha en tanto le rindamos el debido culto, mediante la
entrega al trabajo y el triunfo en la competencia. Entonces, si la alegría no
nos acompaña resulta que somos nosotros los únicos culpables, pues nos ha
faltado el compromiso que este ídolo nos demanda a cambio de la felicidad que
nos promete.
